Gavin's experience with working with film began during the summer leading up to starting his first year of college. He worked with an inspiring young director Allison Walsh on a mini-documentary for a local company called Morton Industries.

This experience led him to pursue a career in film production with him starting out as a video intern at his local community college, Illinois Central College for Harbinger Student Media. Over his first year there, he found himself promoted to Head Video Editor in the span of a semester. It was this job which helped him land a part-time job working as a film production assistant at his local PBS Station, WTVP.

During the course of my summer, he worked with many knowledgeable creatives at the WTVP station who helped him build his skills. These skills consisted of operating a camera during talk shows in a hyperactive live setting, operating a soundboard during a live setting as well, and working on helping prep interviews on an on-location shoot.

Ultimately, these experiences landed him a spot at the University of Illinois as a Media and Cinema Studies major where he's planning on finishing out his bachelor's in two years' time. It is here where he finds himself involved with different student organizations such as Illini Film and Video, The Daily Illini, and August Productions that involve various elements of the filmmaking process as a whole. He finds himself feeling more passionate and hardworking with every day that passes because he knows that this is the path that he wants to pursue.
